What is LRS?

This is relevant for India residents only.

LRS stands for Liberalised Remittance Scheme. LRS allows residents of India to remit funds outside of India for certain pre-approved purposes like Education, Healthcare and Investments (please refer to the Reserve Bank of India website for complete details).

Residents can approach their bank and complete the Banks’ requirements and send funds overseas.

Kristal.AI has and continues to make arrangements with the major banks in India to make this process easier for Customers. We can assist you with the form-filling and related paperwork for the remittance you need to make to be able to invest in overseas assets.

What does ‘Sophistication Level’ mean?

All Customers of Kristal.AI are classified into clusters on the basis of their financial profile, investment history and experience, among other things. A combination of these inputs generates a Sophistication Level which allows Kristal.AI to recommend and showcase only the risk appropriate Kristals to the Customer.

The Sophistication Level may be denoted as a number from 1-10 where 10 is deemed to be more Sophisticated than 1 or as Low, Medium, High and Very High.

What is ‘In-Person Verification’ or IPV?

As per regulatory requirements, we are mandated to maintain records of our customers as a part of our ‘Know-Your-Customer’ process. This includes a proof of the client’s ID and residence.

In-Person Verification is a regulatory requirement conducted for a liveliness check of the potential investor.

What is NAV?

NAV stands for Net Asset Value. It is usually used to denote the value of a single fund unit.
Please note, the Kristal NAV reflects the previous working day’s ‘end-of-day’ value of the Kristal strategy.

What does the term ‘Base Currency’ refer to?

Base currency is the currency used to denominate your investments on Kristal.AI. All information related to your portfolio with Kristal.AI is expressed in your base currency.

Base currency may also be referred to as the account currency. You can have an account in the following base currencies; USD, SGD, HKD, EUR, GBP or INR (available only to residents of India).

What does the term ‘Positive Months’ refer to in a Kristal’s factsheet?

It is the number of months when the Kristal had a positive return out of the total number of months it has been live on the platform.

Accredited Investor Declaration

This is offered only to Accredited and Institutional Investors as defined under the Securities and Futures Act, Chapter 289 of Singapore (“Act”), which broadly comprises of regulated financial Institutions, large corporates, high net worth individuals and sophisticated investors.

An Accredited Investor is an individual
  • Whose net personal assets exceed in value SGD 2 million (or it’s equivalent in a foreign currency) with value of his/her primary residence capped at SGD 1 million, or
  • Whose financial assets (net of any related liabilities) exceed in value SGD 1 million (or it’s equivalent in a foreign currency), or
  • Whose income in the preceding 12 months is not less than SGD 300,000 (or it’s equivalent in a foreign currency)
