Product Offerings
What does Kristal mean?

Each Kristal is a managed pool of exchange-listed assets such as direct Stocks, ETFs, Bond, Derivatives, etc. It is built on in-depth financial knowledge and investment experience of talented portfolio managers across the world. Both Active and Passive strategies can form a Kristal. Before listing a Kristal on the platform, its track record is carefully monitored and approved by the Investment Committee.

What are the different Kristals?

We offer around 150 different investments strategies, from simple ETF baskets to derivative instruments and sophisticated trading strategies. Our Artificial Intelligence system will guide you through these strategies and propose a portfolio according to your profile.

How are your strategies created?

Trading strategies are created with the assistance of the in-house quant team, as well as the best crowd sourced ideas – all overseen by the Kristal Investment Committee. Kristals can be categorized by asset class and are Rule Based or Discretionary in nature.

We give you access to investments in 100+ global exchanges.

Our Kristal Strategies range across 25 countries, including developed economies such as US, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, and emerging markets such as China, India and Mexico.

How does Kristal get traders/portfolio managers on the platform? How are they vetted?

We reach out through our network or referrals and personally meet each Portfolio Manager to go through a thorough vetting process before we onboard them. There is a testing period for each Portfolio Manager, where they trade their account and we oversee it before we enable investors to shadow them (all the trades are passed through our compliance engine prior to trading in the investor accounts). The champion of the strategy pitches it to the Investment Committee and the Compliance team, and a suitable risk rating and boundary conditions are established before we publish the strategy on the platform.

The in-house created AI based algorithm suggests the recommended portfolio to a customer based on the information provided. The Investments Committee oversees the algorithm and its recommendations.

The compliance/verification of track record team sits separately from the Front office/PM to ensure the track record and compliance conditions are validated independently. Brokerage statements and track records are calculated by personnel in the back office to ensure its robustness.
